Umkhumbi Lodge offers self-catering and catered accommodation near Hluhluwe Game Reserve with loads of activities nearby. Stay in your own bush lodge, secluded in the forest, and enjoy viewing the great variety of wildlife and birdlife within our private game reserve from your outdoor dining area. We have a variety of rooms to suit your requirements.
Chalets 1-4 are self-catering family cottages with an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Each chalet is equipped with all cookware, crockery and cutlery, fridge, braai, hotplate, microwave, toaster and kettle.

Close to the 2 chalets is the main lodge building where there is a bar, lounge and kitchen and dining area.
There is a fire pit and braai just outside the dining area. Depending on the package you have booked, meals may or may not be included. If meals are not included you have the option of pre-booking meals with us to eat in our dining area, eating out at one of our local restaurants, or self- catering in our main lodge kitchen.

There is Rafikis café 8 minutes’ drive from the lodge and Delishh restaurant 5 minutes’ drive from the lodge if you prefer to eat out. Both have an a la carte menu, but please check with us for opening hours.
The lodge kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need, except the food! There is a fridge and a chest freezer, a microwave and a gas-powered oven. Don’t forget to bring your charcoal/briquettes and firelighters if you are braaiing. Firewood is available to buy at our main entrance gate.
We have an honesty bar with a pool table for your enjoyment and there is a swimming pool on site. Umkhumbi Lodge is situated in Kuleni Game Park, Hluhluwe, where you can see much wildlife (including giraffes and zebras) on our network of walking trails. Bushbabies and Genets can often be see in the evenings around the chalets.
